HELP FOR A SORE THROAT

sorethroat

It got me! Somebody gave me a common cold with a sore throat.

But what now?

My mother’s advice is always the best! No need to take these harsh medicines (like Chlorhexamed), which has always made my sore throat worse instead of better!

These two natural medicines both work like a miracle and we all have the ingredients at home. Your sore throat will feel better after the first usage.

HELP FOR A SORE THROAT

#1 GARGLE WITH SALT WATER

1 cup water, body temperature

1 Tsp salt

Dissolve salt in water and gargle as long and as often as possible. This solution is due to its high salt concentration antibacterial basically because of the osmotic effect. Don’t swallow!

#2 GARGLE WITH SAGE TEA

1 cup water, boiling

1 heaped teaspoon dried sage

Make a tea of the sage and water and let stand covered until cooled to body temperature. Gargle as long and as often as possible. Sage has an antibacterial function. This really works very well!

FENNEL-HONEY COUGH SYRUP

Fenchelhonig

Oh no! Caught a cough? Here I have the best and most tasty cough-syrup you can even use for your toddler.
! Note: No honey should be given to children under the age of 1 year!

FENNEL-HONEY COUGH SYRUP

10 g bitter fennel seeds (crushed in a mortar), best from the pharmacy
500 g honey (from flowers)

Mix and let sit for 7-10 days. Turn glass once a day. Warm the honey a little bit and pour through a sieve to get out the largest part of the fennel seeds. Fill fennel-honey into bottels. You can keep the fennel seeds as well in a jar to make a sweet fennel tee.
Fennel loosens the mucous in the bronchia and eases the transportation out of the lung.

Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles

Good morning, Honey!! Today is Snickerdooooooodle day!! I just loooooove them (my honey and the snickerdoodles…)!!

SNICKERDOODLES

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tsp baking powder
1 Tsp baking soda (Natron)
1/4 Tsp salt
8 Tbsp butter, melted
2 eggs
1/2 cup neutral oil (rapeseed or sunflower..)
1 3/4 cups sugar, plus more if needed
2 Tbsp ground cinnamon, plus more if needed

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line baking sheets with baking parchment paper. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In the bowl combine butter, oil, and 1 1/2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs, and beat to combine. Add dry ingredients, and beat to combine. In a small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar and the ground cinnamon. Make balls of 1 Tbsp dough, and roll in cinnamon sugar. Place about 5 cm apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake about 10 minutes, rotating the baking sheets after 5 minutes. Surface of cookies should crack. Let cool if you can fight off the others in the room (which I apparently couldn’t as you can see in the picture). The Snickerdoodles look raw when done and are very soft. When they cool they become hard and crunchy. Trust me and just wait untill they are cold! Store in an airtight container up to 1 week.

YUMMMMMMMYYYY!!
